Throughout the years in the framing industry, we have watched as builders struggle with the fluctuating labour force, site management, and meeting deadlines. As such, we have taken the time and energy to build a network of relationships and create a more stable labour force for the industry.
We strive to go above and beyond the current industry practice to provide a collection of services for builders to ensure that the sites run more efficiently and with fewer interruptions. Our core services all come as a packaged product and are
designed for larger multi-family sites in the Calgary area.
Our team will use your architectural plans, structural drawings, and window/door RO’s to create digital files and begin our review process. Our review is designed to identify any errors or discrepancies in the plans or violations of the City of Calgary building codes to ensure that any problems will be addressed prior to construction. We believe this is a crucial step that many times gets over looked and causes problems during the construction or inspections stages. Once built, it takes much more time and energy to fix than it does to be pro-active. That being said, on larger sites, most issues will arise during the first review and the first building erection as even the smallest changes can have larger impacts on the big picture. Our review process also helps to create accurate lumber take-offs, further reducing the costs of construction. Once reviewed and approved, the lumber take-offs will be shipped to our shop where we will produce, level-by-level and unit-by-unit the entire building. We will package the lumber by level and unit, creating all the necessary components for the construction phase. These will be shipped to site where our crews, under our management and supervision, will erect the buildings and deliver a pre-inspected product for your foreman to take-over and organize the trade scheduling.
Our team has spent the last few years managing and supervising up to 30 crews and 7 different multi-family sites for our building partners. Our supervisors will use our in-house labour force to provide: Safety implementation, pre-inspections and quality assurance, on-site plan review with framing crew, plan revisions (as required), frame-checking, as well as proactive and reactive problem solving. We are also able to monitor the construction phases to ensure there are crews ready for when the building is set to begin. In addition, we also have our in-house labour to help out around site, when needed. This reduces the hassle of crews returning for frame-checks and city inspections, as we can have our supervisors readily available to fix any items that are required by the builder or inspectors. In addition to our suite of on-site services, our office management is able to track and monitor WCB, Hazard Assessments, Fall Protection and insurance coverage. Also, we are able to streamline the invoicing process to reduce the workload and complications of having multiple framing crews on-site.
We at Framerz Inc. take pride in the safety standards that all our employees and contractors uphold. Since the formation of our company, we have implemented and maintain our safety program. We understand the risks that arise on a day to day basis and believe that safety comes first. As such, we have been providing safety training to ensure that all our contractors are informed and knowledgeable about the current OH & S standards and that there is at least one certified first aid personnel on each work site. Further to that, we provide safety packages to each crew, prior to starting work on the project. Our field managers conduct routine monitoring and specific stage safety meetings, as crews reach various milestones in construction. This is yet another mechanism to ensure compliance among all our contractors
We take each of your architectural and structural plans, along with window and door rough openings, and have our team review to pro-actively try to identify any problems with the plans.
If there are any items discovered, we consult with the builder, and any engineers or architects involved, to provide a solution that is favorable for the builder and the customer.
Once reviewed, we transform each plan into digital files and images. This becomes the second stage of review as we will be able to virtually create the building by each component to ensure accurate details and measurements in the plans.
Once complete, we will have a 3-D view of the building and placement of RO’s to ensure the end product is in accordance with the intentions of the builder/customer. Once the review is complete and has been approved, our pre-cut shop will measure and cut each individual component for every wall in the building. This is done unit by unit and level by level. Each wall is packaged and separated by level and unit to ensure it is built and secured in the correct order and location. These bundles are then shipped to site and assembled by our labour force, under the supervision of our construction managers. Our process is designed to bring your plans to life as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Our team is with you every step of the way. As a land developer with more than “30” years experience in the construction industry services, Framerz Inc. Has developed many projects in Calgary Alberta and it’s surrounding areas.
